To the Members

It should be noted that the following amendments to Rules will be effective from the 20th February 2026.

GENERAL RULES
General Rule 32.2 amended by the inclusion of the following clauses (j) and (k):

32. CESSER OF INSURANCE

2. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Managers, a Member shall cease forthwith to be insured by the Association in respect of a ship entered by him or on his behalf upon the happening of any of the following events in relation to such ship:

(j) if the ship shall enter any sea, area or port where doing so exposes or may expose the Association and /or the Managers to the risk of being or becoming subject to any sanction, prohibition or adverse action in any form whatsoever by any state, international organization or other competent authority or which may prejudice the right of the Association to make a recovery from their reinsurers under any applicable reinsurance contract.

(k) if the ship commences loading of any sanctioned cargo and / or the Member enters into a charter or other contractual arrangement involving a sanctioned cargo or trade and / or where there are sanctioned entities within the supply chain (to include trading in a sanctioned port) where doing so exposes or may expose the Association and /or the Managers to the risk of being or becoming subject to any sanction, prohibition or adverse action in any form whatsoever by any state, international organization or other competent authority or which may prejudice the right of the Association to make a recovery from their reinsurers under any applicable reinsurance contract.

RUSSIAN OIL CAP – REMINDER

As Members will be aware all cargoes of Russian-origin crude oil or petroleum products (ie oil carried under HS Codes 2709 and 2710) must comply with the oil price cap imposed by many Western nations against Russia. All Members carrying such cargo must provide a per voyage attestation (along with a willingness to provide ancillary information upon request) within thirty days of the cargo being loaded.
